First Alumni Lecture in Vanadzor
3:00pm 08.10.2008
On October 8, 2008, the Vanadzor American Corner organized the first “Armenians at the American Corner” lecture. Two USG alumni, Sona Sargsyan (FLEX, UGRAD 2004) and Vardineh Grigoryan (UGRAD 2006), initiated a helpful presentation for English language teachers entitled "Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA)."
TEA is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and implemented by IREX, a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization. TEA will provide secondary school teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.
There were eight teachers present from different schools. They discussed the details of the program. At the end of presentation the teachers were given the application forms. Sona and Vardineh also left the application forms in the Corner for all those who are interested in the program.
