Driving across the USA

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, the U.S. Embassy U.S. Embassy Political admin assistant Srini Seetharahm gave a public lecture in Vanadzor on “Driving across the USA.” The lecture started with a small part of Disney’s cartoon “Cars” where the cars spoke about the most famous highway – the Route 66.
During the lecture which was illustrated by the power point, the students virtually traveled from the East Coast to West Coast on the highways of the USA.
Srini represented the highway system, the diversity of nature surrounding them, the fun most people have by traveling, shopping or having rest in the small town motels or inns alongside the highways, and how old people after retiring buy a “house on the wheels” and spend their life traveling, visiting their children and grandchildren. He also gave tips on how one should prepare for that kind of long journey, one of the most important preconditions of it being the full tank of gasoline.
Participants actively expressed their opinions and asked questions concerning the travel safety, national parks, road conditions, and traffic rules.
